THERE’S A LAND WHERE EVERY FINISH LINE IS A NEW BEGINNING.

OUR RESEARCH IS OPEN, TO TURN IDEAS INTO ADVANCED FARMING SOLUTIONS.
Research centres focused on the future, committed to innovating and producing tractors of the highest quality.

THE INSPIRATION
Avant-garde innovation at the service of those who use it.

THE METHOD
FROM INTUITION TO INNOVATION.

COLLABORATION
A UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE OF INNOVATION.

AVANT-GARDE INNOVATION AT THE SERVICE OF THOSE WHO USE IT.
PEOPLE-CENTERED INNOVATION
Anticipating the needs of those who choose us, earning their trust for the long term: this is the principle that drives all our research efforts. Improving productivity and well-being for those who operate our machines, reducing fatigue and effort, and providing solutions that are increasingly intuitive and safe - our innovations are designed to be practical, with people at the centre. We are tractor specialists because we truly understand the people who choose us and know what it takes to make a difference in their daily work. We listen carefully, striving to understand every need and transform it into innovation. That’s exactly what we did with the new Series 8: many innovative solutions were born directly from conversations with the operators who use our machines. Our customers are not just users - they are our inspiration, the driving force behind every decision we make. This philosophy has guided us since our founding, revolving around three fundamental principles.
COLLABORATION, AUTONOMY, TRUST: THE FORMULA OF OUR PROGRESS.
Collaboration: a blend of skills, cultures, and experiences that allows us to look to the future with fresh eyes; Autonomy: the freedom to explore, driving us to find ever more innovative and effective solutions; Trust: confidence in the abilities of our teams, encouraging them to give their best. A tangible commitment, felt in every day of our work.

FROM INTUITION TO INNOVATION.
AN ENGINEERING APPROACH THAT TURNS IDEAS INTO REALITY.
The Research & Development department is a true hub of ideas, approaching innovation in a holistic way: from electronics to software, from artificial intelligence to ergonomics, every detail goes through an engineering process composed of four stages.
CONCEPT
A continuous brainstorming process fuelled by a constant flow of stimuli: market trends, customer needs, industry fairs, and university collaborations. Every input is a seed that can grow into a new idea.
DEVELOPMENT
Ideas take shape, transforming into concrete projects: a versatile team of engineers, designers, and specialists from various fields works in synergy to develop technical solutions that not only meet farmers’ needs but anticipate them.
VALIDATION
Each project undergoes rigorous checks to assess its technical feasibility, economic sustainability, and impact on farmers’ daily work.
TESTING
The idea takes shape: prototypes are tested in real-world conditions to ensure reliability, durability, and performance.

A UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE OF INNOVATION.
THE WORLD AS A COLLABORATION OF DEUTZ-FAHR EXCELLENCE
Although DEUTZ-FAHR’s engineering roots are firmly anchored in Italy and Germany, our international outlook allows our divisions to seek inspiration anywhere. Our global engineering and research teams collaborate across borders to drive innovation. A strong and ongoing exchange of lateral thinking between our hubs, universities, startups, and research organisations fuels innovation - highlighted by partnerships with world-class institutions such as the Politecnico di Milano, the University of Turin, the University of Bergamo, and the University of Brescia - bringing truly unique projects to the market. Among our latest milestones are the Smart Vineyard Tractor, the new frontier in autonomous tractors, awarded the Technical Innovation prize at EIMA 2024, and the DEUTZ-FAHR TAGS (Tractor Assisted Guidance System), a system that brings advanced driver-assistance technologies to agriculture, fully tailored to its specific operational needs, which earned the Silver Medal at the Agritechnica Innovation Awards 2025.
THE WORLD AS A COLLABORATION OF DEUTZ-FAHR EXCELLENCE
Our commitment is built upon a team of around 300 researchers from across the globe, including over 250 engineers and designers, supported by numerous collaborations with universities, startups, and research organisations, with more than €200 million invested in product development and R&D between 2022 and 2024. In 2025, a new competence centre was opened in Shanghai: a hub working in synergy with the Group’s other R&D facilities, designed to harness advanced knowledge in electrification and contribute to the development of innovative, sustainable technologies tailored to international market needs. Because the future is a seed that must be planted today - and to grow, it needs nourishment, courage, and trust.
